We have received a request for support following a significant ice storm that impacted Middle Tennessee, including the Linden area. This response will focus specifically on chainsaw and debris removal work. February, 15-21, 2026 Unit Leader: Daniel Wallace Deployment Details • Location: Linden, Tennessee (between Nashville and Memphis) • Site Management: Operations will be conducted under the North Carolina Disaster Relief umbrella, which is managing the disaster response site • Mission: Chainsaw and debris removal to address storm damage • Housing & Meals: Volunteers will stay at Linden Valley Baptist Conference Center, with housing and meals provided while on site • Travel: Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to and from Linden, TN Who Can Respond • Individual Credentialed Disaster Relief volunteers • Full chainsaw teams (church or organized teams) • All volunteers will work under the direction and management of North Carolina Disaster Relief while on site Additional details regarding dates, arrival instructions, and work assignments will be shared as coordination continues. DR Chaplain Training – Assisting Individuals in Crisis Thursday-Friday, April 23-24, 2026 8:00am - 4:00pm EST This is one of the classes required to become a Disaster Relief Chaplain with SBCV, Assisting Individuals in Crisis. This class is a Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) course and is a 14-hour course. You must attend the entire course for credit. Anyone is welcome to receive SBCV's Disaster Relief Chaplain Training, but only members of SBCV churches who are credentialed DR volunteers, may be credentialed as a SBCV DR Chaplain. This project will walk you through the process of taking the online basic training and credentialing. Online DR Basic Training is available at any time. For in-person training, go to the Project Catalog and sign up for the training location of your choice. If none are available in your area, we invite you to complete the process online. 1. Please sign up by selecting "volunteer". THE DATE AND TIME DO NOT MATTER. 2. Signing up will require that you create a profile and a login username and password (if you don't have one already). 3. Once you are signed up for a "shift", the list of credentials needed will appear in your "My Profile". 4. Select the yellow badge next to the credential for information on completing the necessary item. You should see yellow badges for the following credentials. Once they are completed, the badge will turn green. - Credentialing Fee - $35 first time and $20 for re-credentialing. Re-credentialing is required every 3 years. This is paid via the link provided. Also available here: https://sbcofvirginia.regfox.com/dr-training - The Basic Online Training Course - This will appear as a credential. Follow the link provided to complete the online training at your convenience. - Photo - Please upload a photo using the link provided. - Liability Waiver - Follow the instructions provided. - Background Check - Follow the instructions provided.
